Rich Lehl was born in Portland, Oregon in 1969. He studied painting and printmaking at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art.
Rich has been exhibiting his work nationally for over 14 years in various galleries and museums. He lives and works in Seattle and is currently represented by the Packer Schopf Gallery in Chicago, Illinois.
Rich Lehl incorporates people and other subjects in settings that create a surreal narrative. His imagery is influenced by actual and subconscious experiences that often distort in a way that asks questions about the human condition. It tends to challenge our accepted interpretations and allows us to see others or ourselves differently. Mystery, desire, and humor are just some of the elements in Rich Lehl's art.
